On December 21st, 2006, students from the Bass and Drum programs were treated to an evening of great music at Catalina's Bar and Grill featuring Mike Stern, Victor Wooten, and Dennis Chambers. Benefactor Jerome Cruitt provided students with dinner and the show, including a special meet and greet with Victor Wooten.

At the LA Music Academy, you never know who might stop by for a bass master class. These are a few shots of recent master classes that show students up close with some bass greats. The first class was taught by Canadian bass wiz Alain Caron, who gave an amazing class on technique, practicing, jazz, and generally how to be a monster on the bass. The second master class featured master bass builder Michael Tobias, who shared information about the bass building process, set-up, tone, pick-ups, and lots more.
